From a legend to a brand
branding built on strategy, storytelling and design

The Blooming Fern is a London branding studio specialising in brand strategy and identity design - founded out of frustration with how branding is often approached. Too often, decisions are made without clear direction, branding becomes a surface-level exercise, and the work is split between different people with no one responsible for the bigger picture.

We work across the full brand-building process in clear stages that are easy to understand and follow. Strategy comes first, and design builds on that - so brand decisions aren’t made on gut feeling alone.
Brands are stronger when they’re rooted in meaning.
Why The Blooming Fern
In Central and Eastern European folklore, the fern flower is said to bloom only once a year, on Midsummer Night. Whoever finds it is believed to gain a treasure - sometimes wealth, sometimes wisdom - but always something rare.

That sense of rarity is key. Rather than creating another surname-based studio, we chose a name that carries meaning and sparks curiosity. It invites questions - and the fact that you're reading this means it's already doing what it was meant to do.

Meet the designer
Hi, I'm Zofia Ciupa - the designer behind The Blooming Fern

I'm the designer behind The Blooming Fern, working closely with clients from the early thinking stages through to final execution.

Clients often say the process feels intuitive and reassuring - as if the brand they had in mind finally takes shape. That’s because I treat branding as a shared effort. I bring structure, strategy and design expertise, while you bring the knowledge of your business, your goals, and the reasons you started it in the first place.
And when I'm not designing...
I was born in Poland, spent a few years living in Berlin, and now call London home - at least for the moment. Who knows where I’ll end up next...

Outside of work, I’m a sabre fencer, equally happy watching a musical in the West End or doing absolutely nothing on the couch. I’m also quietly obsessed with plants, flowers, and anything botanical - a personal interest that aligns naturally with the thinking behind the studio name.
